With increased demand, register online for drive-thru COVID-19 test instead of calling

August 26, 2021 – FYI, News

Juneau continues to see high numbers of COVID-19 cases in the community and testing is an important tool to contain the spread. Due to an increased demand for testing, the City and Borough of Juneau is requesting people register online for its drive-thru testing facility instead of calling. Registration is required to test. The registration/scheduling system works more efficiently when as many people as possible register online here (or at bit.ly/registerCOVIDtest). If you don’t have access to internet or don’t feel comfortable registering online, call the COVID-19 Hotline at 586-6000 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

CBJ’s Drive-Thru testing facility is located at Hagevig Fire Training Center on 2601 Sherwood Lane. Tests are processed at Bartlett Regional Hospital and results are expected within 24 hours. See other options for testing in Juneau here.

Get tested if:

  • You’re feeling even mildly ill with new symptoms like fatigue, chills, cough, fever, or decreased sense of taste or smell.
  • You’re a traveler arriving in Juneau. Take a test at the airport, avoid indoor public areas and crowded locations until results are back, and return to the airport for a follow-up test in 3-5 days.
  • CBJ encourages the following groups to participate in weekly asymptomatic testing: unvaccinated adults who work with youth and unvaccinated adults who regularly interact with tourists.
