Visitor Industry Task Force Invites Public Testimony on Draft Recommendations on November 5
The City and Borough of Juneau’s Visitor Industry Task Force (VITF) invites the public to share input during its November 5 meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Mendenhall Valley Public Library large meeting room. Public input will help shape the VITF’s final recommendations to the Assembly on how they should manage Juneau’s visitor industry.
The VITF completed drafting its recommendations during the Thursday, October 22 meeting. The recommendations center on four themes: downtown congestion, helicopter flightseeing, whale watching, and data collection to inform future tourism policy decisions. The public can view the draft recommendations on the CBJ website before providing testimony.
Residents who would like to testify in-person can come to the Mendenhall Valley Public Library and sign-up before the meeting. Residents can also testify remotely by calling the City Clerk’s Office at 907-586-5278 before 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Written comments can also be provided to the VITF at any time by emailing the CBJ Clerk’s Office at [email protected].
