Upcoming traffic changes for Tongass Blvd Reconstruction Project

Traffic routing for the Tongass Boulevard Reconstruction Project Phase I is changing this Friday, April 22, for about one week. Here’s what the public can expect:

• Intersection of Tongass Boulevard and Jennifer Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic.
• Northbound traffic may use either Trinity Drive or Nancy Street to access Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱ – Glacier Valley School.
• Southbound traffic will be detoured to Nancy Street to access Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱ – Glacier Valley School.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained through the Jennifer Drive intersection on the school side of Tongass Boulevard.

Please note: These changes will impact drivers doing pick-up and drop-off at Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱ – Glacier Valley School.

Phase I of the Tongass Boulevard Reconstruction Project began earlier this month. It includes reconstruction of the Tongass Boulevard from the intersection of Trinity Drive to Dudley Street.
