Reminder: Deadline to petition property assessment is Monday, April 27
The 30-day period to file a petition for review ends this coming Monday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. Property owners who have errors or omissions regarding their assessed values must advise the Assessor in writing by this deadline. Your property taxes are calculated by multiplying your assessed value with the millage rate, so it is important that your assessed value is accurate.
You can find your property assessment on a white postcard from the City and Borough of Juneau Office of the Assessor that was mailed March 31. You can also find it online on the Assessor’s Database.
Petitions for review should be filed electronically this year due to mandated social distancing. Staff are here to assist you in any way to ensure your petition is filed and received. The petition form can be found through this link: https://juneau.org/finance/assessor-forms
Once the form is filled and supporting documents are assembled, please use one of the following methods to submit it:
- email to [email protected]
- fax to (907) 586-4520,
- drop off the physical form and supporting documents at one of the CBJ drop boxes located at Super Bear IGA in the valley, Foodland IGA downtown, or outside the front entrance to City Hall.
Assessor’s Office staff is available by phone or email to assist you through this process. Please do not hesitate to call 586-5220 or [email protected].
