Parks & Recreation opens summer shelter reservations Monday, Jan. 25

January 20, 2021 – FYI

The City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation Department is opening summer shelter reservations Monday, January 25 at 8 a.m. Summer shelter reservations are available April 15 – September 15 and cost $25 per hour plus tax. New this year: reserve a summer shelter online here starting Monday. Summer shelter reservations can still be made in person at the Parks & Recreation main office in City Hall, although registering online offers a greater chance of securing your desired date and time. Masks and social distancing are required for in-person service at City Hall.

Starting February 1, Parks & Recreation will begin accepting emailed, faxed, or mailed summer reservations; this form can be emailed to [email protected], mailed to Parks & Recreation, 155 S. Seward St. Juneau, AK 99801, or faxed to 586-4589.

If a shelter is not reserved, it is still available for public use on a first-come, first-served basis. Find information on all Parks & Recreation shelters here.

Parks & Recreation recently moved to a new online registration system. Those interested in reserving a shelter are strongly encouraged to set up an account – if you haven’t already done so – in advance of summer shelter reservations opening up on January 25. There’s a chance you may already have an account if you’ve done business with Parks & Recreation before. Try logging into the new system by using your email and your old eTrak password.
