Overstreet Park opens for guided tours, apply for a permit March 1-29

The City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications from businesses interested in conducting commercial use activities, like guided tours, at Mayor Bill Overstreet Park this upcoming summer season. CBJ’s newest park opened July 2018. It’s connected to the Seawalk and located at the ends of W 8th and W 9th streets near the Juneau-Douglas Bridge. Mayor Bill Overstreet Park features Tahku, a humpback whale fountain; restroom facilities; a picnic shelter; benches and table seating; paved walkways; and educational signage.

The application period for this special 1-year Commercial Use permit opens Friday, March 1 and closes Friday, March 29 at 4:30 p.m. For more information on Commercial Use permits, go here. The application form will be available on the website starting Friday, March 1. A non-refundable application fee will be $125; the $3.50 per guided person fee applies to the 1-year permit.
