Out of Town? Here’s How to Get a Ballot for the 2026 Municipal Election 

The 2026 City and Borough of Juneau Municipal Election runs now until Tuesday, October 6 at 8 p.m. If you are out of town during the election or do not receive your ballot in the mail this week, here are other ways you can get your ballot:  

Receive your ballot at a different mailing address – Request by September 29 

You can request to have your ballot mailed to another address by filling out a temporary address application. Temporary address applications must be received by the CBJ Municipal Clerk’s Office by Tuesday, September 29. Voters can deliver the application by:  

• Physical Address: CBJ Municipal Clerk’s Office at 155 Heritage Way, Juneau, Alaska 99801
• Mailing Address: CBJ Elections, P.O. Box 33579, Juneau, Alaska 99803

Receive an e-ballot – Request by October 5  

You can request an e-ballot, which is a ballot delivered by email or fax, by filling out an e-ballot application. E-ballot applications must be received by the CBJ Municipal Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. Alaska Time on Monday, October 5.  

E-Ballots returned by email, fax, or secure online portal must be received by 8 p.m. Alaska Time on Tuesday, October 6. E-Ballots returned by U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 6 and received by Monday, October 19. Voters using USPS are encouraged to take their ballot to a USPS counter and request a hand postmark. 

Visit a vote center – Now until 8 p.m. on Election Day, October 6  

If you will be in Juneau anytime now until 8 p.m. on Election Day, October 6, you can vote in person at a vote center. Vote centers are located at:  

• City Hall Assembly Chambers (155 Heritage Way in Downtown) 

• From September 21 to October 5, open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

• On Election Day, October 6, open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

• Mendenhall Valley Public Library (3025 Dimond Park Loop in the Mendenhall Valley) 

• From September 21 to October 5, open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.  

• On Election Day, October 6, open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
