No construction on Douglas Highway July 27 for marathon

Both lanes of the Douglas Highway will be open and clear of construction on Saturday, July 27, for the Juneau Trail & Road Runners Marathon & Half Marathon. Please be cautious of runners on the road. Construction work will resume Monday, July 29.

City and Borough of Juneau contractor Admiralty Construction has been working on Phase 1 of a project to replace the water main on Douglas since June. To help alleviate some of the traffic issues, Admiralty has recently been making two lanes open to vehicles until 8:15 a.m. and again from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This is expected to continue throughout the project.

CBJ plans to put out another update next week when Admiralty shifts its work zone.
