Mendenhall River Flood Event

The Mendenhall River is currently flooding due to a major release from Suicide Basin. The River is currently above its record flood stage and evacuation orders have been issued for specific structures. As of this information release, all individuals impacted by evacuation orders have been contacted. CBJ staff are on site, monitoring the situation, and standing up emergency operations.

Please avoid impacted areas.

For the sake of emergency vehicle traffic, please limit your vehicle activity on the Mendenhall River bridge on Back Loop to essential travel only and please do not visit for sight-seeing purposes.
