Last Day to Vote is October 6 – Capital Transit to Provide Fare Free Transit for Election Day

The last day to vote in the 2026 City and Borough of Juneau Municipal Election is Tuesday, October 6. Remember to visit a Vote Center or submit your ballot by drop box or mail by 8 p.m. on Tuesday to have your vote counted.  

On Election Day, Capital Transit will be free for all passengers. Visit Capital Transit for help identifying your best route to a vote center or ballot box. Below is a list of vote center and ballot box locations with the nearest Capital Transit bus stops:  

Vote Centers – Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, October 6  

  • City Hall Assembly Chambers (155 Heritage Way in Downtown) – Nearest Stop: Downtown Transit Center 
  • Mendenhall Valley Public Library (3025 Dimond Park Loop in the Mendenhall Valley) – Nearest Stop: Dimond Park Bus Stop 

Ballot Drop Boxes – Open 24/7 until 8 p.m. on Election Day, October 6 

  • Auke Bay: Statter Harbor Boat Launch Parking (11801 Glacier Highway) – Nearest Stop: Auke Bay Bus Stop 
  • Downtown: City Hall (155 Heritage Street) – Nearest Stop: Downtown Transit Center 
  • Douglas: Douglas Public Library (1016 3rd Street) – Nearest Stop: Douglas Library Bus Stop 
  • Lemon Creek: Alaska Electric Light and Power Company (5601 Tonsgard Court) – Nearest Stop: Anka Street Stop 
  • Valley: Mendenhall Valley Public Library (3025 Dimond Park Loop) – Nearest Stop: Dimond Park Bus Stop 

If returning a ballot through U.S. Postal Service, your ballot must be postmarked by October 6. Voters using USPS are encouraged to take their ballot to a USPS counter and request a hand postmark.
