How to vote in the Municipal Election: drop box, vote center, or mail

Juneau voters can vote now in the City and Borough of Juneau Municipal Election. On the ballot are candidates for Mayor, two Assembly members, three School Board members, and one ballot proposition. Ballots were mailed to all qualified registered voters September 14. There are three easy ways to cast your ballot:

  1. Place your ballot in a Secure Ballot Drop Box outside the Douglas Library or the Statter Harbor boat launch parking lot; or
  2. Take your ballot to a Juneau Vote Center at City Hall or the Mendenhall Valley Public Library (see hours below); or
  3. Mail your ballot through the U.S. Postal Service no later than Election Day, October 5; no stamp required but getting it postmarked is highly recommended.

Secure Ballot Drop Boxes

Secure Ballot Drop boxes are open until 8 p.m. on October 5 at these two locations:

  • Statter Harbor Boat Launch Parking Lot (NOT the Harbor Office parking lot), 11801 Glacier Hwy, Auke Bay
  • Douglas Library/Fire Hall Community Building, 1016 3rd Street, Douglas

Juneau Vote Centers

Drop off voted ballots, request a new or replacement ballot, request voter assistance, or register to vote or update voter registration for future elections at two Juneau Vote Centers:

City Hall – Assembly Chambers (155 S. Seward St.)

  • Weekdays thru Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Election Day, Oct. 5 at 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Mendenhall Valley Public Library (3025 Dimond Park Loop)

  • Weekdays thru Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sept. 25 & Oct. 2 at 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Election Day, Oct. 5 at 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
