How COVID-19 vaccine recipients are reminding themselves to get their booster shot

December 23, 2020 – FYI

Karen Taylor, a registered nurse at Bartlett Regional Hospital’s Mental Health Unit, got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on December 17, administered by Liesl Bland, RN. Karen is due to receive a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine three weeks later. To help her remember, she’s holding up a sticker created by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services to remind her when to return.

People getting the vaccine can also get a reminder using v-safe, a national reminder and safety text messaging system. Text ENROLL to 1-833-VAX-TEXT when you get your vaccine and get text reminders about the second dose as well as texts asking about any side effects. Learn more about v-safe on the CDC website.
