How can the Amalga Harbor boat launch be safer & more efficient? Tell Docks & Harbors April 2

March 26, 2019 – News, Notices for Public Comment
Amalga Harbor can be a busy and congested launch facility. The City and Borough of Juneau Docks & Harbors Department wants community input on how to improve the safety and efficiency of the boat launch. A public meeting will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the Mendenhall Valley Public Library. This is the third public meeting on this issue.

Users of the boat launch as well as Amalga Harbor residents are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the April 2 meeting. PND Engineers will be facilitating and looking at all reasonable solutions, from removing the existing fish cleaning station to adding an extension to the existing boarding float with greater amenities. The firm will present a recommended solution at a future Docks & Harbors Board meeting. When discussing the needs and opportunities for improvements at Amalga Harbor, this study is a helpful document.
