The City and Borough of Juneau will be closing the Household Hazardous Waste facility on Thursday, October 29, for a couple of weeks. When it reopens on Thursday, November 12, the facility will be in a new building at a new address – 5600 Tonsgard Court – soon to share the same location as the recycling center and landfill. Please watch for signage and staff directing people on a new traffic flow to access the various facilities starting November 12.

Household Hazardous Waste is open to residential drop-off on Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The facility opens Thursday to businesses by appointment only. Businesses can call 780-6691 to make an appointment between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The facility accepts batteries, TVs, used oil, fluorescent light tubes, paint, cleaners, and many other household hazardous waste items. See the full list here.

As a reminder, the recycling center is open Tuesday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
