Girls & boys will have separate leagues in upcoming Parks & Rec youth outdoor soccer season
Registration opens this Saturday, May 11 for the City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation’s youth outdoor soccer for ages 5 to 14. Registration runs through May 26 and costs $55. New this year, Parks & Rec will have separate leagues for girls and boys.
The season runs July through August. Generally, kids will practice one night a week, Monday through Thursday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Games will take place on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Both the boys and girls leagues will be broken into divisions by age and area, though depending on the number of kids, divisions and areas may be combined. Kids must turn 5 years old by August 31, 2019 in order to play. Parks & Rec will not accommodate coach requests.
Register online or in person at City Hall Parks & Rec or Zach Gordon Youth Center during business hours. A $10 late fee will be applied to registrations beginning May 27 for a total of $65. Registrations received after June 16 will be placed on a wait list.
