Community members can get free hand sanitizer at Alaskan Brewing Company

April 29, 2020 – FYI

Starting April 30, members of the public can get up to 12 ounces of free hand sanitizer from the Alaskan Brewing Company. Three filling stations adjacent to the Alaskan Brewing Tasting Room will be open 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 30-May 2 and May 5-May 9.

Here’s how it works:

  • Bring your own bottle, like an empty dish washing detergent bottle or an old Windex bottle. The suggested type of container is something that mists. Do not bring a bottle previously used for food or drink. You can get up to 12 ounces of hand sanitizer.
  • Go to the Alaskan Brewing Company Tasting Room located at 5364 Commercial Blvd. Follow the signage and cones indicating where to park and line up. City and Borough of Juneau staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist and direct people through the filling station process. The stations will be wiped down and sanitized after each use.

The Alaskan Brewing Company and CBJ strongly encourages everyone to wear a face covering while getting hand sanitizer. The community is also asked to self-monitor the crowd situation. If it looks busy at the filling area, please come back another time. The sanitizer is flammable, so please no smoking when filling or when using this product. The sanitizer should not be consumed.

If you need assistance getting hand sanitizer, or with any other need, please fill out this simple CBJ form. Those without internet access can request assistance by calling 500-0771.

Businesses that need hand sanitizer can call 907-780-5911 to arrange for pickup at the Alaskan Brewing Tasting Room. Business can get up to one gallon of sanitizer at cost.

CBJ thanks the Juneau Community Foundation and the Alaskan Brewing Company for providing funding and time to this project.
