CBJ to collect construction & demolition flood debris on August 29 and September 5

August 25, 2023 – News

The City and Borough of Juneau has contracted with Pyramid Abatement and Remodel to collect construction and demolition (C&D) debris from the Mendenhall River flood event on Tuesday, August 29 and Tuesday, September 5. This is a free service for residents impacted by the flooding.

This will be the second phase of flood-related debris collection, following several rounds of household trash and hazardous waste collection.

CBJ is now in the process of reaching out individually to residents with details about how to prepare C&D waste for collection. If your property was affected by flooding and you have not been contacted by CBJ by Sunday, August 27, please email [email protected].

Due to the complexities of dealing with C&D materials, we will not be collecting these items after September 5. If your C&D waste is not picked up on the first day of collection (August 29) and you want to ensure it is collected, please email [email protected] immediately.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work to dispose of materials safely and securely.
