CBJ reports two new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting two new residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. How the individuals acquired the virus is unknown at this time. The 12 individuals in the Wildflower Court cluster have all recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,103 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 139 nonresidents. There are 11 active cases in Juneau and 1,226 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) today reports 144 new people identified with COVID-19 – 134 are residents and 10 are nonresidents. The state also reports two deaths – a male Anchorage resident in his 60s and a female Wasilla resident in her 80s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 280. Alaska has had 54,282 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,128 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 6,371 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 4,029 have completed both doses. Statewide, 120,396 people have received their first dose and 54,739 have completed both doses.
