CBJ reports nine COVID-19 cases in Juneau Dec. 5-7

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting nine new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau. These cases came in December 5-7. Public Health is attributing five cases to secondary transmission, one to community spread, and three are under investigation.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 844 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 112 nonresidents. There are 60 active cases in Juneau and 891 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 589 new people with COVID-19 – 557 are residents and 32 are nonresidents. Alaska also reports three additional deaths – a male Seward resident in his 50s, a male Anchorage resident in his 60s, and a male Anchorage resident in his 50s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 145. Alaska has had 36,196 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,343 nonresidents.
