CBJ reports four new COVID-19 cases

The City and Borough of Juneau’s Emergency Operations Center reports four new people with COVID-19 – two are residents and two are nonresidents. Public Health is attributing one of the new resident cases to out-of-state travel and the other case is still under investigation. Of the two nonresident cases, one is a visitor who got COVID-19 from a known contact, and the other is also a visitor who got the virus from travel. Public Health has initiated contact investigations, and will notify and quarantine additional individuals as appropriate.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 87 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March. Of those, eight cases are active and 77 have recovered. The total number of nonresident cases in Juneau is 63. Of those, 27 are active. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Statewide reports 120 new people with COVID-19. Eighty-four are residents and 36 are nonresidents. Alaska has had 2,878 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 681 nonresidents.
