CBJ Election preliminary unofficial results, updated Oct. 10

October 10, 2020 – News

The counting of ballots in the CBJ Regular Municipal By Mail Election continues at the Anchorage Election Center and the second round of preliminary unofficial results have now been posted to Elections webpage at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections.

Of the 11,000+ ballots received to date, the count on Saturday, October 10 put the total reviewed, approved, and counted ballots at 10,048. That is 1,950 ballots added to the Friday, October 9 count of 8,098 in the preliminary unofficial results.

Additional review is being done on the remaining ballots and we will continue to receive ballots in the mail and add those to the review and counting process. Ballots postmarked by Election Day, October 6 and meeting the necessary voter qualifications will be counted. Part of that review process includes mailing out letters to Juneau voters asking them to respond right away to the requested information. If you receive a letter from the CBJ Clerk’s office regarding your ballot, please respond to the request as soon as possible so those ballots may advance to the next stage of the counting process.

The next preliminary results will be posted online on Friday, October 16 in advance of the work of the Canvass Review Board on October 20.

Questions can be directed to the CBJ Municipal Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm at 586-5278 or via email to [email protected]. Please note that CBJ offices will be closed on Monday, October 19 for the Alaska Day Holiday. If you receive a letter regarding your ballot and plan to visit City Hall to provide the requested information, please plan your visit by Friday, October 16.
