UPDATED: Capital Transit service changes during construction

September 3, 2024 – News

UPDATE: Due to a delay in the start of construction, outbound buses are still serving the Foodland IGA, the Federal Building, and 12th Street stops. Once construction begins (estimated to be in a few days’ time), outbound service from these stops will be paused.

Beginning later this week, construction at Glacier Avenue & West 8th Street will limit outbound bus service from some stops in the downtown Juneau area. If you use Capital Transit to shop or commute in this area, please be aware of this temporary interruption.

While construction is underway, outbound buses will not stop at Foodland IGA, the Federal Building, and 12th Street. Passengers traveling from these stops are advised to take an inbound bus to the State Museum on Whittier Street and transfer there to an outbound bus.

This interruption affects outbound buses only. Inbound buses traveling downtown will continue to stop at these locations.

Once construction is complete, bus service will resume at these stops. We appreciate your patience during this time.
