Basin Road gate closed June 15 & Perseverance Trail partial closure June 15-25

City and Borough of Juneau Parks Maintenance personnel will be using heavy equipment to clear numerous rockslides along Perseverance Trail and Basin Road. Due to this work, the Basin Road gate will be closed June 15 and parts of Perseverance Trail will be closed June 15-25:
- Basin Road gate closure: On Tuesday, June 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Basin Road beyond the Mt. Roberts trailhead will be closed to vehicle access to allow workers to clear the rockslide above the road. The road will open back up to the public upon completion of work.
- Perseverance Trail partial closure: The rest of the work will take place on Perseverance Trail where some or the entire trail will be closed to the public while the work is being completed. Trail work is scheduled to start Tuesday, June 15 through Friday, June 25 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day excluding the weekend.
Please follow the instructions of park staff and abide by closure signs and safety fences. Access to Granite Creek Trail and Silverbow Basin will be limited during the excavation.
