Bartlett Regional Hospital Board of Directors hires Interim Chief Executive Officer
Jerel Humphrey has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bartlett Regional Hospital by the Hospital Board of Directors. Humphrey takes over from Kathy Callahan, who came out of retirement to temporarily serve as Interim CEO. The announcement was made after a special meeting Tuesday by BRH Board President Kenny Solomon-Gross. Mr. Humphrey will serve through the search process and hire of a permanent CEO.
Respected for his ability to foster collaboration and strengthen relationships with the community, Mr. Humphrey has served as an interim leader across the country, most recently with a hospital in Pennsylvania where he strengthened departments and worked closely with staff in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Board of Directors would like to express our gratitude to Kathy Callahan for stepping out of retirement and into the interim CEO role. Ms. Callahan has provided exceptional leadership at the hospital during this transition to a longer term interim CEO. Mr. Humphrey has significant experience as an interim leader and the Board of Directors is ready to work closely with him during this transition period to a new CEO,” said BRH Board President Kenny Solomon-Gross.
Mr. Humphrey’s appointment follows the recent departure of former CEO Rose Lawhorne. Mr. Humphrey will begin his role as the interim CEO on October 18, 2021. He comes to Bartlett Regional Hospital through a contractual relationship with a healthcare interim executive leadership company.
