Bartlett Regional Hospital Board of Directors hires Chief Executive Officer to lead hospital

Rose Lawhorne has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bartlett Regional Hospital, President of the Hospital Board of Directors Kenny Solomon-Gross announced today.

“After a nationwide recruitment process, we are pleased to hire a local candidate with extensive knowledge of the hospital and commitment to Juneau and northern southeast Alaska,” said Mr. Solomon-Gross. “Ms. Lawhorne moves into the CEO position with attributes we were looking for – a clinical background, a patient-centered focus, an extensive knowledge of hospital operations, and the vision to move the health of our community forward in a fiscally sustainable manner.”

Ms. Lawhorne is the current Chief Nursing Officer at Bartlett Regional Hospital. Her BRH career began in 1993. Over the course of the past 28 years she has also worked as Assistant Chief Clinical Officer, Senior Director, Emergency Department Director, Staff Nurse, and Data Entry/Registration Clerk. Ms. Lawhorne has an Associate of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Alaska, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to take on this new role leading the hospital. I believe that Bartlett plays a vital role in the health of our community and am excited to lead our hospital team as we care for our friends and neighbors,” said Ms. Lawhorne.

Ms. Lawhorne’s appointment follows the recent retirement of former CEO Chuck Bill. Ms. Lawhorne will begin her role as the CEO on April 4. She will earn an annual salary of $320,000 per year.
