Today
Rain. Highs around 42. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight
Rain. Lows around 40. Southeast wind 10 to 20 mph.
Thursday
Rain. Highs around 44. Southeast wind 15 mph shifting to the north in the afternoon.

We had dry calm conditions for the last two days. With mid day temperatures above freezing and night time lows locking things back up.

Avalanche danger is Low at this time.

Natural avalanches are not likely. Human triggered avalanches are also not likely.

You may still be able to find weak layers and areas of weakness but they would be quite isolated and shallow.

Watch for danger levels to increase as the next storm comes in.

Eaglecrest is hosting an Backcountry Safety Awareness and Companion Rescue Course Saturday March 5th from 8:30am-3:30pm.

This course is free and sponsored by the Department of Public Safety.

During this day long course you will learn about avalanche terrain, weather, and stability assessment tests. You will also learn about Avalanche Rescue as well as transceiver, probe and shovel use.
