October 2, 2018 CBJ Municipal Election Now Certified

It is with great pleasure that we announce the official certification of the October 2, 2018 Regular Municipal Election. The results of the election can be found under the October 2, 2018 links on the on the Clerk’s Election webpage at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections

The Municipal Clerk’s Office would like to extend its thanks and appreciation to all the candidates who were willing to run for office and extend special thanks to all the hard working election volunteers and staff who made this election possible!

The newly elected Board of Education (School Board) members will be sworn into office at a meeting to be held this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Thunder Mountain Library. Newly elected Assemblymembers will be attending an Assembly Onboarding Training event at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13 in the Assembly Chambers and they will be sworn into office at the Monday, October 15 Assembly meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers.

Unofficial Preliminary Election Results Friday, Oct. 5 Now Available

The Election Absentee and Question Review Board has completed its work and the preliminary results are now posted on the Election page or by clicking here.   For anyone who was present at Election Central #2 on Friday, the copy of the printed results were missing the total numbers from the Early Votes and Absentee In Person, Absentee By Mail, and Special Needs ballots. Those numbers have now been included with the total numbers on the spreadsheet linked above.

Please note all results are UNOFFICIAL until the election is certified by the Canvass Review Board on Tuesday, October 9.  The Canvass Review Board will begin its work at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, October 9 and is anticipated to be done certifying the election later that same day.

Ballot Counting of Absentee/Question Ballots for October 2, 2018 CBJ Municipal Election

Absentee, Early Voting and Question Ballots will be counted on Friday, October 5, 2018 starting at approximately 6:30pm in the City Hall Assembly Chambers.  The public is welcome to attend. 

 These counts will be added to the totals from Election night with the unofficial totals posted to the CBJ website https://juneau.org/

Any outstanding Questioned and By-Mail Ballots will be added to the totals by the Canvass Review Board.  The Canvass Review Board will meet on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 beginning at 10am in City Hall Conference Room 224 to review and certify the election.  For more information, contact the Municipal Clerk’s Office at 586-5278.

Unofficial preliminary election results posted; 2,500+ ballots still to review

The October 2, 2018 Regular Municipal Election Day is over, but the election work continues through October 9. The unofficial results from Election Night are posted here.

The Absentee/Question Review Board begins work today, October 3, to review approximately 2,500+ Early/Absentee and Questioned ballots. Once the board’s review is completed, those ballots to be counted will be added to the unofficial results on Friday, October 5 in City Hall Chambers; time will be determined that day and the public will be notified.

The Canvass Review Board will meet on Tuesday, October 9 in City Hall Conference Room 224 to audit the election results and certify the election.
