Learn about upcoming Augustus Brown Pool Renovation Tuesday, Feb. 25

The City and Borough of Juneau Aquatics Board invites the community to its February 25 meeting at 5 p.m. in City Hall Chambers to hear an update on the upcoming Augustus Brown Pool Renovation Project. CBJ’s Engineering Department will talk about the current status of the project, proposed scope of work, and timeline. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and comment.

In October 2017, voters approved Proposition 1, which included $5 million in renovations for Augustus Brown Swimming Pool. The renovation will focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, and address many code issues common in dated facilities. Significant work will be done on the pool liner, upper flat roof, as well as on operational components to improve customer experience, processes, and efficiency. The pool is currently scheduled to close for renovations this July and reopen spring 2021.
