Apply for a CBJ Enterprise or Advisory Board

The following Enterprise Boards and Advisory Boards have seats up for action. Persons interested in applying should fill out an online application and mark which boards they are interested in. Upon receipt of an application for the Airport or Eaglecrest Boards the Clerk’s Office will email applicants advanced interview questions specific to that Enterprise Board.  The Clerk’s Office will schedule applicants who returned the advanced interview questions, for a 10-minute interview with the full Assembly sitting at the Assembly Human Resources Committee.  Interview dates/times are yet-to-be finalized for an evening in mid to late July.

 Enterprise Board Applications accepted through Wednesday, July 9 for:

Airport Board: 5 seats for various terms (some full terms, some partial terms)

Eaglecrest Ski Area Board: 3 seats with terms running July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028.

Advisory Board applications are accepted at any time and placed on a regularly scheduled Assembly Human Resources Committee meeting agenda for review and recommendations for appointment are forwarded to a Regular Assembly meeting for appointment.

Advisory Board Applications accepted at any time:

  • Board of Equalization: 2 seats for various terms (meetings run May-July)
  • Historic Resources Advisory Committee: 1 seat for a term running July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028
  • Juneau Commission on Sustainability: 3 seats for terms running July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028
  • Systemic Racism Review Committee: 3 seats for various terms
  • Youth Activities Board: 3 seats for various terms

Interested in serving on a CBJ boards or committee – applications stay on file for one year and are added to the appointment process as vacancies arise for the board or committee of interest.

Candidate Filing Period will open at 8:00am on Friday, July 18 and close at 4:30pm on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Special Assembly Meeting scheduled for June 11

The CBJ Assembly will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, June 11 at 1:15 p.m. for the purposes of completing time-critical agenda items remaining from the June 9 Regular Assembly Meeting. The meeting will be held via Zoom only.

The Assembly is anticipated to take action on the following items:

Resolution 4012 A Resolution Reserving up to $3,045,800 of the Restricted Budget Reserve for the Eaglecrest FY26 Budget Deficit.
Resolution 4015 A Resolution Ratifying the Labor Agreement between the City and Borough and the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association for Fiscal Years 2026, 2027, and 2028.
Resolution 4018 A Resolution Amending the Personnel Rules and Approving Economic Terms between the City and Borough of Juneau and Non-represented Employees for Fiscal Years 2026, 2027, and 2028.
