Learn More About Blueprint Downtown at Foodland Pop-Up Event on Saturday
Curious about downtown Juneau’s future look? Learn more about Blueprint Downtown, the long-term area plan for downtown Juneau, at a pop-up event this Saturday, August 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Foodland (615 W. Willoughby Avenue). Copies of the public review draft of the plan will be available to view and Blueprint Downtown project manager Beth McKibben will be on hand to answer questions. This is a great opportunity to learn about the draft plan, the public review process, and how you may comment.
The project’s general focus is on the area from the Rock Dump to Norway Point (Juneau Yacht Club). The mission of Blueprint Downtown is to create a long-term area plan that reflects current public desires and incorporates past work from relevant existing community plans. The plan was developed through a public process that involved several community meetings and a 13-person Steering Committee appointed by the Planning Commission. The Steering Committee has drawn from business, personal, environmental and cultural perspectives to guide and shape the plan.
