City Museum offers true crime historic walking tours this summer. Reserve a spot now.

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is offering three True Crime Capital Killers historic walking tours this season on June 19, July 24, and August 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. The tour will be led by former Juneau criminal reporters Ed Schoenfeld and Betsy Longenbaugh and will focus on historic Juneau murders. Tickets are $30 plus tax and may be purchased at the City Museum or by calling 586-3572. Space is limited, so advanced reservations are recommended.

Ed Schoenfeld, who retired in recent years from public broadcasting, covered some of the best known murders in the area during his more than 30 years reporting in Juneau, including the mass murder trial of John Kenneth Peel. Betsy Longenbaugh was a crime reporter for the Juneau Empire and Sitka Daily Sentinel and is an avid amateur historian who is on the verge of publishing a book on historic murders in Juneau and Douglas.

This tour begins at the City Museum and involves walking on inclines, uneven ground, and stairs. It is recommended for adults, but may be suitable for mature teens. Please call the City Museum at 586-3572 for more information.
