CBJ reports two new COVID-19 cases in Juneau
The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting two new individuals identified with COVID-19 in Juneau – one is a resident and one is a nonresident. How the resident acquired the virus is under investigation. The nonresident is in the mining sector. The small party cluster remains at nine cases with six recovered.
Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,325 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 161 nonresidents. There are nine active cases in Juneau and 1,472 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.
Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 97 new people identified with COVID-19 – 95 are residents and two are nonresidents. The state also reports a death – a male Palmer resident in his 60s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 362. Alaska has had 66,963 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,793 nonresidents.
