Ordinances on New JACC funding scheduled for public testimony Aug. 20
Three ordinances related to the funding of a new Juneau Arts & Culture Center – also known as the New JACC – are scheduled for public testimony and a public hearing on Monday, August 20. The City and Borough of Juneau Assembly will meet in a Committee of the Whole Work Session at 5 p.m. in City Hall Chambers, immediately followed by a Special Assembly Meeting. The public is encouraged to give public testimony during the 5 p.m. Committee of the Whole on August 20.
During the Committee of the Whole, the Assembly will be taking public testimony on and discussing:
- Ordinance 2018-40: An Ordinance Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds in the Principal Amount of Not to Exceed $12,000,000 to Finance Capital Improvements to the Facilities of the City and Borough, and Submitting a Proposition to the Voters at the Election to Be Held Therein on October 2, 2018.
- Ordinance 2018-43(b): An Ordinance Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds in the Principal Amount of Not to Exceed $7,000,000 to Finance Capital Improvements to the Facilities of the City and Borough, and Submitting a Proposition to the Voters at the Election to Be Held Therein on October 2, 2018.
- Ordinance 2018-39: An Ordinance Increasing the Hotel-Motel Room Tax by Two Percent and Providing for a Ballot Question Ratifying the Increase.
Ordinance 2018-39 and Ordinance 2018-40 were originally scheduled for a public hearing on Monday, August 13, and are now scheduled for the Monday, August 20 meetings.
