Airport hosts public meeting March 2 on terminal reconstruction plans
The Juneau International Airport plans to reconstruct the North Wing of the terminal and is hosting a public meeting to share design concepts and hear public interest on Friday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the Alaska Room at the Juneau Airport. People attending the meeting can park in Short Term Parking and bring their automated parking lot ticket to the meeting to get validated.
The North Wing, totaling about 35,000 square feet, is the area of the terminal where regional air carriers operate (circled in blue in the image). Demolition is scheduled to start in April 2019 and new construction will generally occur on the same footprint. Work will address code deficiencies, replace infrastructure, improve energy efficiency, and increase flexibility and adaptability of interior spaces.
