Skookum Recycling requests the use of CBJ land to store metal and processed vehicles that will be barged out of Juneau and sent to recycling facilities in the Washington area. This is in response to rising shipping and related costs; Skookum intends to move this material south through alternative means. CBJ land will be used only for temporary storage. There will be a fence containing all stored materials and weekly inspections by CBJ staff. The location requested currently does not have regular use.
The location is zoned Industrial and the intended use aligns with that zoning.
