With lowered community risk level, pools and ice rink adjust operations

Due to the City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center lowering the overall community risk to Level 1 Minimal, City and Borough of Juneau facilities Juneau Pools and Treadwell Arena are adjusting its operations:

Treadwell Arena has increased open skate capacity to 28 skaters. This increase is effective as of today, February 19. See Treadwell’s full schedule of activities at TreadwellArena.org and make a reservation here. Reservations open every Monday. Please note: admission to Open Skate and Stick N’ Puck costs $5 and payment is taken during online registration. Masks and social distancing are required. Guests are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmets, but skate rentals are available and included in admission. For more information, contact Treadwell Arena at 586-0410.

For Juneau Pools, effective Monday, March 1:

Dimond Park Aquatic Center

  • Guest capacity increased to 80 patrons
  • Semi-open swims resume, including spray features once inspections are conducted
  • 30-minute closures between semi-open swim sessions
  • Lap lanes are no longer restricted to single households only

Augustus Brown Swimming Pool

  • Guest capacity increased to 50 patrons
  • Lap lanes are no longer restricted to single households only

For the health and safety of guests and staff, the following amenities are unavailable at both aquatic facilities until further notice: saunas, hot tub, instructional programming, and facility rentals.
