Volunteers needed for April 12 Search & Rescue exercise
CBJ Emergency Programs Division is looking for 40 enthusiastic volunteers to help with a Search & Rescue Exercise Friday, April 12 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone, including youth with adult supervision, is welcome. There are opportunities for both indoor and outdoor locations, though more outdoor volunteers are needed.
Volunteers will be staged and hiding in several different areas around Juneau. A Search and Rescue responder and possibly a dog will be attempting to locate and rescue you. Before the exercise begins you will be instructed about the role you are being asked to play. It could include mocking an injury or being unconscious.
