Treadwell Arena to Celebrate Twentieth Anniversary in February with Free Events, Prize Drawing

CBJ Parks & Recreation will host a series of DIY activities and events throughout February to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Treadwell Arena. Children and adults alike can enter a coloring contest or fill out the Treadwell Anniversary Tic-Tac-Toe board to enter a drawing for a private ice rental, Parks & Recreation admission passes, hoodies, and many other prizes.

The celebration will conclude with the 20th Anniversary Free Skate, sponsored by Alaska Auto Repair, on Saturday, February 25 from 7:45 – 9:00 p.m. Admission to the rink and skate rental are both free of charge. Please note that rental skates are limited and first come, first served. All ages and abilities are welcome to join for disco lights and sound, cupcakes, and prize drawings.

Treadwell Arena opened to the public February 22, 2003. It is the only indoor ice skating rink in Southeast Alaska. The arena is home to the Juneau Skating Club, Juneau Douglas Ice Association Youth Hockey, Juneau Adult Hockey Association, and JDHS Crimson Bears Hockey, and regularly hosts lessons, open skates, and special events from August through April.
