Traffic and Capital Transit changes due to sinkhole at North Franklin & Third

The City and Borough of Juneau Engineering & Public Works Department is in the process of addressing a sinkhole along North Franklin Street in Downtown Juneau. The affected area is at the intersection of North Franklin Street and Third Street. Please note the following changes to parking, traffic, and Capital Transit:

• No Parking Signs are posted along North Franklin to allow vehicular traffic.
• The roadway is narrowed and traffic is shifted to the right. Traffic is anticipated be diverted through the weekend as contractors work to repair the roadway.
• The project area is marked off with cones to ensure both pedestrian and vehicular traffic are clear of this area.
• Capital Transit service will be discontinued to the Downtown Library, Franklin and Front Street, and 4th Street. Please wait for the bus at the Downtown Transit Center.
