Today is Election Day, polls open 7 am to 8 pm
Today is Election Day. Polls opened at 7 a.m. this morning and close at 8 p.m. tonight.

You can also call the State of Alaska Polling Place Locator at 1-888-383-8683, enter your Social Security Number or your voter number when prompted, and you will be told where your polling place is located. Keep in mind that people can vote a ballot at any poll that is convenient for them, but their name will only be on the register of their own polling place.

Election Central will be at City Hall tonight in Assembly Chambers starting around 7:30 p.m. Preliminary results start coming in a few minutes after 8 p.m.
“I would remind voters to never think that it is a waste of time to cast a ballot because EVERY SINGLE VOTE makes a difference,” said Municipal Clerk/Election Official Beth McEwen.
Following Election Day, here’s what happens after:
October 4 – Counting Questioned & Absentee Ballots, Assembly Chambers, Time TBA
October 8 – Canvass Board Election Certification, Location & Time TBA
Last Day to Contest the Election (must be filed before completion or during review of election returns)
October 10 – Last Day to request a Recount
October 14 – Reorganization of the New Assembly will take place at the Regular Assembly meeting including recognition of outgoing Assembly member Mary Becker
October 18 – Last Day to file for Judicial Review of Election in Superior Court
