Street closures & noise notice during Sealaska Heritage Arts Campus construction

September 1, 2020 – FYI

Dawson Construction has begun work on the Sealaska Heritage Arts Campus in Downtown Juneau. Main Street and Front Street will be intermittently closed 7 am – 6 pm on the following dates. Please note, dates are subject to change. Please follow the posted construction signs, and watch for crew working and heavy equipment operations.

▪️ MAIN STREET CLOSURES

Sept. 1 – Sept. 5 (7 am – 6 pm daily)
Oct. 20 – Oct. 31 (7 am – 6 pm daily)

Main Street will be closed from the entrance of the down­town Transit Center north to the corner of Front Street. Access to the Transit Center remains unchanged. All other northbound Main Street traffic will be detoured through S. Franklin Street to Front Street.

▪️ FRONT STREET CLOSURES

Sept. 3 – Sept. 12 (7 am – 6 pm daily)
Oct. 22 – Oct. 24 (7 am – 6 pm daily)
Oct. 26 – Oct. 31 (7 am – 6 pm daily)
Dec. 18 – Dec. 20 (7 am – 6 pm daily)

Pedestrian foot traffic on Front Street will remain un­changed during the Front Street closure. The parking lot on Front Street and Main Street will be accessible.

Additionally, Dawson Construction will be operating heavy equipment until Sunday, November 29 from 7 am to 7 pm under permit #2020-0459. Excavators, haul trucks, and pile drivers will be in use and will generate very loud noises. The surrounding area in Downtown Juneau will likely be impacted.
