Sayéik: Gastineau Community School playground closed for the summer

The playground at Sayéik: Gastineau Community School will be closed this summer starting today, May 26, as the City and Borough of Juneau begins work to partially replace the school roof. The closure includes the main playground, the pre-kindergarten play area, the covered area, and basketball courts. For the public’s safety, no pedestrian or bike traffic is allowed through the area throughout the construction.
For the project, CBJ contractor Earhart Construction will replace the roofs of the main wing of the school, the boiler room, and the RALLY room.
The school playground areas will reopen when school resumes August 16.
