Residents Invited to Dimond Park Field House Elevator Ribbon Cutting on July 23

The City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation invites the community to celebrate the new elevator at the Dimond Park Field House, which improves access to the facility for field house users. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the elevator will be held on Thursday, July 23, at noon. 

The addition of this elevator will allow all visitors, including those with mobility needs, to access the indoor mezzanine and public walking track, creating a more inclusive space for our community. Construction on this project began in June 2025 and was completed in July 2026, after contractors integrated the elevator with the building’s fire alarm system and the elevator received rigorous state inspection to ensure the facility’s safety.
