Planning Commission meets October 9. Here’s how to weigh in.

October 3, 2018 – Notices for Public Comment

The City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission meets on October 9, 7 p.m. in City Hall Assembly Chambers to review applications from community members interested in sitting on the Blueprint Downtown Steering Committee.

Seating of the Blueprint Downtown Steering Committee (AME2018 0007)

Blueprint Downtown is Juneau’s downtown area planning effort. The Blueprint approach differs from other area plans since many plans have already been undertaken for downtown Juneau since the 1980s. What is missing is a cohesive vision for the downtown. Consultants have been hired to conduct extensive public outreach to determine that vision. The resulting Blueprint Downtown plan will incorporate the vision and the work from the existing plans into an action-oriented strategy that will enhance downtown, leverage assets, create place-making opportunities, and update zoning. A steering committee of volunteers will help CBJ staff through the plan development process.

Visit the Blueprint Downtown website for more information about this planning effort or to take a short survey to share thoughts about the future of Downtown Juneau.

The public is encouraged to submit written comments to [email protected] by 12 noon, October 5, or testify in person at the meeting.  For more information related to this agenda item click here.
