Planning Commission meets October 23. Here’s how to weigh in.
The City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission meets on October 23, 7 pm in City Hall Assembly Chambers to review and make decisions on a proposed property rezone, a marijuana cultivation and retail facility, a condominium development, and to seat community members on the Blueprint Downtown Steering Committee. All of these items are up for public hearing.

Blueprint Downtown Steering Committee to be seated (AME2018 0007)
Blueprint Downtown is a planning effort of the Community Development Department, with facilitation by MRV Architects, Lucid Reverie, and Sheinberg Associates. In addition, a steering committee comprised of community members representing the diversity of stakeholders in downtown Juneau will serve as the voice of the public and the conscience of the plan. A marijuana cultivation and retail facility in Lemon Creek (USE2018 0013; USE2018 0014)
The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit for the development of a marijuana retail and cultivation facility at 5130 Commercial Boulevard in Lemon Creek. This property is located on a parcel with a land use designation of Light Industrial, which is appropriate for small to medium-scale commercial enterprises such as this proposal.
A rezone request on Sherwood Lane (AME2018 0013)
The applicant requests a rezone of 5 acres of land at 2500 Sherwood Land from Industrial to Light Commercial in order to meet the applicant’s development goals for the property. CLICK HERE to read the application and/or staff report posted online, which will provide more details about these goals.
A proposed condominium development in Auke Bay (USE2018 0016)
A Conditional Use Permit has been requested for the development of a 32-unit condominium complex on a vacant lot at 11798 Glacier Highway. The condominiums will be a mixture of two and three bedroom units. The subject lot is located within the Auke Bay Center area, as identified in the Auke Bay Area Plan.
