Planning Commission meets July 9. Here’s how to weigh in.
The City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission meets on July 9, 7 p.m. in City Hall Assembly Chambers to review two proposals related to relocating Capital City Fire & Rescue’s sleep-off services to St. Vincent de Paul’s Dan Austin Transitional Support Services Center and a final plat for Pederson Hill Subdivision II, Phase 1A. These items are up for public hearing.
The Commission will also consider whether or not to reconsider their June 25 decision regarding a Department of Transportation project at the intersection of Back Loop and Mendenhall Loop Roads.
St. Vincent de Paul to lease space to CBJ for sleep-off services (PWP2019 0001 & USE2019 0017)
The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit and a parking waiver reduction in order to lease space to Capital City Fire & Rescue to house their Community Service Patrol and Sleep-off Services. St. Vincent de Paul intends to create the St. Vincent Sobering Center and locate it in its Dan Austin Transitional Support Services Center.
A final plat review for Pederson Hill Subdivision Phase 1A (SMF2019 0003)
The Planning Commission approved with conditions the preliminary plat for Pederson Hill
Subdivision Phase 1 (SMP2016 0002) on February 28, 2017 and approved a modification splitting Phase 1 into sub-phases (SMP2017 0001) on October 10, 2017. This requested final plat approval is for Phase 1A, to include 17 residential lots and one public use lot for habitat preservation.
Notice of Reconsideration for a case heard on June 25, 2019 (CSP2019 0005)
Notice of reconsideration was given at the June 25, 2019, Planning Commission meeting for CSP2019 0005: A review of a State project to install two flashing beacon signs at the intersection of Back Loop Road and Mendenhall Loop Road.
