The City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission meets on April 9, 7 p.m. in City Hall Assembly Chambers to review a proposal regarding a caretaker’s unit in an Industrial zone, and a review of the lease and use permit for Tracy’s Crab Shack’s addition and siting of propane tanks. These items is up for public hearing.

Request to use a mobile home as a caretaker’s unit on Commercial Boulevard (USE2019 0006)

The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the use of a mobile home as a caretaker’s unit/office space in an Industrial zoning district for Southeast Earthmovers, who use the lot for industrial equipment storage, which is an allowed use in that type of zoning district. CBJ 49.25.300 Table of Permissible Uses allows, with an approved CUP, a mobile home as a caretaker’s unit that is accessory to an existing allowed use.
