Pick up free school meals for Alaska Day weekend on Friday, Oct. 16
The Juneau School District school meal program will be serving four days worth of free breakfast and lunch meals tomorrow, October 16, for the Alaska Day weekend. Meals are free for all children in the community ages 18 and under regardless of school meal eligibility. There will be no meal pickup on Monday.
Stop by any school (just inside the front entrance) to pick up meals from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Meals are also available for pickup from Gruening and Cedar Park 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (look for a school bus in the parking lot).
The Alaska Day holiday weekend meals will include hot oatmeal, French toast, and breakfast omelet tacos for breakfast; and burrito, cheeseburgers, and grilled chicken burgers for lunch. Menus can be found here. Check the school meal program Facebook page for updates.
