Paving on Douglas Highway scheduled for today, October 3

Due to a weather window, City and Borough of Juneau contractor Admiralty Construction plans on paving sections of Douglas Highway today, October 3, as part of the Douglas Highway Water Main Replacement Project. Paving operations are expected to begin at 11 a.m. and continue until completed today. Work will focus on the northbound lane of Douglas Highway and the Cordova Street intersection.

Admiralty Construction plans to have one lane of traffic open, except during peak traffic hours of 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. when two lanes are open. During paving operations, traffic in both lanes will periodically be completely stopped for about 10 minutes each time. Please plan for longer than normal delays. Flaggers will be present to help keep traffic moving.
