New eligible groups can sign up for Feb. 11-12 vaccine clinic at Centennial Hall

UPDATE: All appointments for the Feb. 11-12 COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Centennial Hall have been booked. If you were not able to get an appointment, do not worry. Additional clinics will be held as more vaccine becomes available. In time, every Juneau resident who wants a COVID-19 vaccine will get one. The State of Alaska today updated its eligibility guidelines for the COVID-19 vaccine. The next tier includes:

• People aged 50 years or above with a high-risk medical condition;
• People 50 years or above working as a frontline essential worker;
• Pre K-12 and child care education staff; and
• People living or working in other congregate settings.

These groups are currently eligible to sign up for the February 11-12 vaccine clinic at Centennial Hall organized by Juneau Public Health Center, Bartlett Regional Hospital, Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, and City and Borough of Juneau. Make an appointment online at juneau.org/vaccine. Eligible individuals who do not have internet can call 586-6000 to make an appointment.

Clinic appointments are also still available for seniors (age 65 and up) and healthcare workers. Everyone under the age of 65 will be asked to attest to their eligibility.

Make an appointment only if:

• You are eligible to receive a vaccine under the updated guidance
• You are available for a second dose at Centennial Hall March 4-5
• You are an Alaska resident who is currently living in Juneau and have physically been in Juneau for at least five days prior to the clinic dates, February 11 and 12. If you have returned to Juneau within five days of the clinic dates, and therefore strict social distancing per State of Alaska Health Orders 6 or 8​, do not make an appointment. Strict social distancing cannot be maintained at the clinic.

People with appointments should bring a photo ID to the clinic. After checking in and getting the vaccine, you’ll be monitored for 15 minutes for any adverse reactions. Appointments for the second dose will be made at the clinic. Everyone at the clinic is required to wear a mask. There is no cost for the vaccine or the administration of the vaccine.

In addition to getting vaccine at the clinic, local providers in Juneau have enrolled with the State of Alaska to distribute vaccine by appointment to eligible individuals. Not all providers will have appointments at any given time, but more appointments open when vaccine becomes available. See a list of state-enrolled vaccine providers here.
